Tips: Disaster Preparedness--Are You Prepared?
We should all have a disaster preparedness kit tucked away in our homes, just in case. Be sure to include the following items to your preparedness kit:
- Three to five-day supply of water (one gallon per person per day).
- Food that will not spoil and requires no cooking.
- First-aid kit and needed medicine.
- Emergency tools, such as a battery-powered radio, cell phone, flashlight.
- Extra batteries.
- Personal items like toilet paper and plastic garbage bags.
- Change of clothing and blankets for each person.
- Portable generator if possible.
- A communication plan (with an out of state phone number if possible).
