Parking Cites Issued (1141)
The street sweepers were working more in August than July so the cites went up by 110. The officer giving the presentation for the traffic segment of Crime View thinks compliance rate is up. Please note that the city council will contract with an outside company and might go to seeping streets every other week. This should drastically reduce these cites.
Driving Under Influence (DUI) Collisions (1)*
The one incident took place near the corner of Placentia Ave and Bastanchury Road, just a bit east on Bastanchury.
HBD Collisions (0)*
Driving Under Influence (DUI) Arrests (11)
This number is exactly the same as last month. For the year and comparing to last year, we are -9%. One officer in the Crime View meeting thinks he sees a lot more taxi cabs being used to take people home from restaurants that serve alcohol and at bars. One restaurant in the area uses a limo to take customers home.
30 Day Impounds Of Vehicles (84)
One big success story for Placentia Police is the impound yard. A very large number of vehicles are being driven illegally. Officers will impound these vehicles during traffic stops. This impounding of illegally driven vehicles, has significantly dropped the vehicular incident reports. When you see this figure go up, expect to see traffic related crimes to diminish.
